Based on its excellent reputation and long track record in molding sand additives and keeping the focus on different foundry related applications, Imerys extended the product range to the core shop and on the introduction of new, innovative solutions for the core production process.

The combination of knowhow in the foundry process as well as the broad availability and knowledge of mineral solutions perfectly fits into the concept being a partner for foundries and their mineral based materials.

We are providing core sand solutions in form of additives, preventing core sand related casting defects as well as covering the wide field of solutions with a variety of products e.g. organic and inorganic additives.

Core Sand Binders

Due to the importance of environmental solutions in the molding sand process and the innovative perspective towards the core shop, Imerys decided to develop an inorganic core binder system reducing the amount of emissions, coming from traditional organic core sand binder systems in Aluminium foundries, to a minimum. The new developed inorganic binder system is currently in a prototype stage and needs further evaluation in practice.
